The Challenge
The ready-to-drink cocktail aisle has become a sea of infamous sameness. From canned margaritas to tequila-based RTDs, brands often rely on the same visual cues, category conventions, and clichés. Sol Jam set out to create something different built on vibes all their own. The challenge was to develop a distinctive brand strategy, identity system, package design, and digital experience that could break through a crowded category while creating an emotional connection with consumers seeking something more expressive than the typical RTD offering.
The Execution
Beginning with a strategic story-driven foundation, Creature Theory developed a bold visual identity inspired by movement, rhythm, and the colorful spirit of the cocktails themselves. The packaging checks-off all the CPG best practices without looking like it was designed to pass a focus group—vibrant color, energetic graphics, and clear flavor communication to command attention both on shelf and online. The website extended the brand universe beyond the can, creating a digital experience that captures the same upbeat rhythm and encourages consumers to embrace the brand's carefree, flavor-forward outlook. The result is a distinctive RTD cocktail brand that stands apart from category conventions and feels every bit as refreshing as the drink inside.
